Suspects Wanted in Fatal Hit and Run Traffic Collision

October 8, 2021
Update
October 7, 2021

The driver identified as Abraham M EspinosaVelasco, was taken into custody and booked for 187(a)PC-Murder.  His booking No. is 6258917 and bail set at 1 million dollars.

North Hills:  On Tuesday, October 5, 2021, around 5:20 a.m., a black 2016 Range Rover was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Hayvenhurst Avenue when it ran the red light and collided with a 2018 Toyota Camry, traveling eastbound on Nordhoff Street. The Range Rover then collided with a gray Honda Civic and white Toyota Tacoma, traveling westbound Nordhoff Street.

The force of the multi-vehicle collision caused the Range Rover to continue in a northwest direction north of Nordhoff Street before coming to rest. Two male suspects exited the black Range Rover and fled from the scene in a northbound direction, failing to stop, render aid or identify themselves as required by law. This multi-vehicle collision resulted in a fatality and moderate injuries to the other victims involved.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced the driver of the gray Honda dead at scene. The driver was a female approximately 56-years-old and her identity will not be released until next of kin has been notified. She had a male passenger inside her vehicle that was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

The driver of the white Toyota Camry was the sole occupant. She was treated at scene for complaint of pain.

The driver of the white Toyota Tacoma was the sole occupant. He did not sustain any visible injuries from the collision.

Suspect-1-Driver is described as a male that stands between 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing between 160-170 pounds.  He was seen wearing a blue jacket, blue jeans, black shoes, and white cap.

Suspect-2-Passenger is described as a male that stands between 5 feet 11 to 6 feet tall and weighing between 190-200 pounds.  He was seen wearing a dark track jacket, blue jeans, and black shoes.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
