Figueroa Corridor Felony Hit-and-Run Leaves Woman Dead

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s South Traffic Division (STD) detectives are currently investigating a felony hit-and-run traffic collision that resulted in the death of a woman in her 30s.

The Incident occurred on May 17, 2025, around 9:20 p.m., near the intersection of Figueroa Street and 115th Street. Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect vehicle was traveling northbound on Figueroa Street when it struck a pedestrian, inflicting fatal injuries. The driver of the vehicle continued northbound Figueroa Street, fleeing the scene without identifying themselves or rendering aid as required by law.

The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.

STD Detectives is requesting anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information related to the collision to come forward with any information regarding this felony hit-and-run.

Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
