Captain Arturo Sigueñas has had the privilege of serving the community members of the City of Los Angeles for the past 28 years. As a police officer, he worked at Pacific Division, Van Nuys Division, and Northeast Division. At Northeast Division, he served as a Field Training Officer and Vice Investigator.
In 2017, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and worked as a Field Supervisor at Rampart Division, Operations-Central Bureau, Homeless Outreach and Proactive Engagement, and Internal Affairs/Criminal Investigative Division. In 2021, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and returned to Rampart Division as a Patrol Watch Commander. In 2022, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant II and served as the Adjutant at Administrative Services Bureau. In 2024, he was selected to work at the Community Safety Partnership Bureau and oversaw teams assigned to South Park and housing developments in Operations-Central Bureau and Operations-Valley Bureau. The developments included Ramona Gardens, Pueblo Del Rio, and San Fernando Gardens.
Captain Sigueñas grew up in the City of Los Angeles, and after graduating from high school, he had the honor of serving in the United States Marine Corps as an enlisted infantryman. His tours of duty included deployments overseas and to the Middle East. After completing his commitment honorably, he joined the Los Angeles Police Department and attended the Police Academy in March 1997.
Captain Sigueñas graduated from Union Institute & University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Management. He also completed the Federal Bureau of Investigation – Law Enforcement Executive Development (LEEDA) course, Los Angeles Police Department Leadership Program, POST Management Course, and Command Development Program.
In 2025, Captain Sigueñas was promoted to the rank of Captain and assigned to Hollenbeck Division as the Hollenbeck Patrol Commanding Officer.
