Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s (LAPD) Force Investigation Division is investigating an Officer-Involved Shooting (OIS) that occurred in Olympic Division.
On May 28, 2025, at around 3:20 a.m., Olympic Patrol Division uniformed officers responded to a radio call of a robbery in progress at a business located in the 1700 block of South Western Avenue.
The comments of the call indicated the suspect, later identified as 41-year-old Christopher Hall, was armed with a gun, and he possibly assaulted a female worker. Once officers arrived at the location, they were directed by witnesses and an LAPD air unit to Hall, who had run from the business to an adjacent apartment complex. Hall proceeded to a narrow pathway north of the building, while still armed with the handgun. Officers contacted Hall and ordered him to drop his weapon. Hall refused and pointed his handgun at the officers, resulting in an Officer-Involved Shooting.
Hall was not struck; however, he dropped his handgun and climbed over a nearby fence. As Hall fled north, an officer deployed a TASER. Hall fell to the ground and was taken into custody without further incident. As a result of the TASER deployment, Hall was placed into a recovery position and monitored by officers until the arrival of Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) personnel.
Hall was transported by rescue ambulance to a local hospital where he was treated and released for booking. A black airsoft replica handgun was recovered at scene and booked as evidence.
The victim of the robbery sustained minor injuries. She was treated at scene by LAFD.
No officers or other community members were injured as a result of this incident.
